Dorst, The Netherlands
Design for the site of a former foresters house and shed. The house and shed are converted to a vacation home and restaurant Beum. Based on historic research, a composition was designed that restores the spatial coherence lost over the years and reconnects buildings and landscape. The former foresters watchtower is highlighted as the centerpoint in the forest clearing. The produce of the vegetable garden, orchard and flower garden is used in the restaurant. A large circular bench frames the existing oak trees on the terrace.
